Nicolas Diolez

After graduating from high school, he studied Film at the University Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne. Deeply passionate about the work of Akira Kurosawa, he dedicated his Master’s thesis to the Japanese director’s use of long lenses. During his studies, he took the opportunity to cut his teeth in directing. Notably, he co-directed Public Bitches, a surreal thriller about the emancipation of two women facing the tyranny of two men. The film won Best Screenplay at the World Music & Independent Film Festival in Washington, D.C., in 2014. Subsequently, he directed multiple short films for the Nikon Film Festival, as well as videos for various websites and brands (including L’Info Tout Court and the blog Mademoiselle Bon Plan).

His screenplay Le Cocon (The Cocoon), a speculative short film exploring the theme of plastic surgery, was selected for numerous festivals including:The Oaxaca FilmFest (2016)Semi-finalist at the Nashville Film Festival (2018)The Los Angeles International Screenplay .Awards (2020)The Chicago Screenplay Awards (2020).

A visual enthusiast, he has always practiced photography. Raised in a family passionate about the medium, he became a professional photographer in 2017Beyond food and travel photography for the blog Mademoiselle Bon Plan, he takes a keen interest in cultural and political life. Most notably, he produced a photo series on candidate rallies during the 2017 French presidential election, as well as a series on the "Ladder Gang" (le gang des escabeaux) - the people who perch atop stepladders facing the Cannes Film Festival red carpet to snap photos of their favorite stars.
